Nathan's Pretzel Dog Cooking Instructions

IKEA is almost as famous for using illustrated instructions as having low prices. And now the company is taking it's signature instructional style and applying it to the kitchen. The Canadian branch of the Swedish furniture store partnered with a Toronto-based marketing company, Leo Burnett, to create Cook This Page, which is basically Paint By Numbers for cooking.

Each recipe is printed on a piece of parchment paper using food-safe ink and features the outline of the quantity of each ingredient called for in the dish. All the cook has to do is fill in the lines for each item (think fish, salt and lemon). Then, once the food is measured out, the page can be rolled up and placed in the oven to cook. We know, it's almost too good to be true.

So far, the company has come up with several recipes, including ravioli with Swedish meatballs (um, yum), salmon with lemon and herbs and shrimp with tomatoes and olives.

While this concept isn't on IKEA shelves yet, we can't wait to test it out when it is. Talk about a genius concept for a cookbook.
